Education
Both Bedourie and Birdsville have well equipped playgroups, which are available to accompanied children up to Year 1. These groups meet three times a week in the Shire Halls of either town.
Both Bedourie and Birdsville have excellent, 1 teacher, State Schools offering modern education for children from Preschool to Year 7.
Children on properties within the Shire use the services of the School of the Air or a Governess.
After Year 7, children typically go to Boarding Schools in Longreach, Charters Towers, Toowoomba, Warwick, Brisbane or Adelaide.
