Community Sustainability Manager

Plant Operator (Grader)

Applications are invited from experienced Grader drivers to join our busy Works team. We are looking for several experienced hands-on applicants with excellent driving skills and a positive attitude. If you have the ability to final trim, carry out basic operating checks and daily maintenance this could be the opportunity to bring your skills to a dynamic shire and community.

We Require you have…
• Certificate of Competency in Grader Operations
• Knowledge of Main Roads Standard and Techniques; and
• Current Queensland 'C" Class Licence ("MR" Class Licence Desirable)

These positions will be based in either Bedourie or Birdsville which are small but vital towns with fantastic modern facilities including 24/7 health services, schools, sporting facilities and twice weekly flights to/from Brisbane/Mt Isa.

A competitive remuneration package is offered ($61,000 to $93,500 depending on allowances and overtime), including above award wages and 6 weeks annual leave. A comfortable home is available in Bedourie or Birdsville at subsidised rent.

Councils works crews are currently operating on a 10/4 roster during which a reasonable amount of overtime is worked whilst they reside in their modern mobile camp accommodation.

A competitive remuneration package is offered ($56,000 to $91,500 depending on allowances and overtime), including above award wages.  Council also provides 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading and 9.5% superannuation. A comfortable home is available in Bedourie or Birdsville at subsidised rent.

Labourer Bedourie Town Crew

We are now recruiting for a fulltime Labourer for our Bedourie Town Crew. If you are fit and strong, keen to work outdoors then this might be the job for you. We require applicants to have a 'C' Class Drivers Licence, white construction card and the ability to operate plant equipment and machinery or willingness to learn.

A competitive remuneration package is offered ($57,691,00 to $61,877.00 depending on allowances and overtime), including above award wages.  Council also provides 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading and 9.5% superannuation. A comfortable home is available in Bedourie at subsidised rent.

Town Ganger

We are now recruiting for a fulltime Town Ganger for our Bedourie Town Crew. If you are able to ensure that the construction and maintenance of town parks, gardens and facilities are completed efficiently and to a high standard then this job might be for you. We require applicants to have a 'C' Class Drivers Licence (MR or HR is desirable), a certificate or qualification in Horticulture or similar and competencies in Forklift and Skid Steer Loader.

A competitive remuneration package is offered ($61,315 to $70,000 depending on allowances), including above award wages.  The option to work overtime will be available and will increase the remuneration stated above. Council also provides 6 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading and 9.5% superannuation. A comfortable home is available in Bedourie at subsidised rent.
