IDAS Forms 1&2

The Sustainable Planning Act 2009 (SPA), established a simple step-by-step process for making, assessing and deciding development applications in Queensland.  This process is called the Integrated Development Assessment System (IDAS).

There are two IDAS application forms required for a building application:

Form 1 (Application Details); and

Form 2 (Building work requiring assessment against the Building Act 1975)

The Building Act 1975 defines building work as:

Building, repairing, altering, underpinning (whether by vertical or lateral support), moving or demolishing a building or other structure, excavating and filling.

Town Planning

A ‘Material Change of Use’ application is generally required when there is:

The start of a new use of a building or on the land

The re-establishment of a use that has been abandoned

A material change in the intensity or scale of the use of the land

 

IDAS forms

For a Material Change of Use Application IDAS forms 1 and 5 will be required.
