Community Grants Register
Our Community Grants Register is a regularly updated list of external funding opportunities available to local community groups and individuals.
It includes a variety of Queensland and national grant programs, organised by application closing date. Ongoing or open-ended grants are listed at the bottom for easy reference.
Council encourages community members to explore these opportunities and offers support with the application process, including assistance with grant writing.

Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF)
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between the Queensland Government, through Arts Queensland, and Diamantina Shire Council to support local arts, culture, and heritage projects.
RADF Grants fund activities such as music, workshops with artists, paint-and-sip events, dance classes, and performance fees—helping our creative community deliver quality contemporary projects, build skills, grow audiences, and boost the region’s cultural vitality.
The program is flexible, with funding priorities shaped by local needs to celebrate creativity, strengthen identity, and foster vibrant, inclusive communities.

How to Apply
Before applying, please read the Diamantina Shire Council RADF Guidelines to confirm your project’s eligibility. Once you’ve reviewed the guidelines, complete the DSC RADF Application form and submit it by the closing date for the relevant funding round.

Are you under 25 and living in the Diamantina Shire? You could be eligible for funding through the Bedourie Aboriginal Corporation (BAC) Bursary program!
Who can apply for a grant?
You must be a permanent resident, a community organisation or club within the Diamantina Shire Council (DSC) area, or an individual/group representing the area by performing, competing or presenting at district, state, national or international competitions, conferences or events AND be or be representing individuals or groups under the age of 25 years.
Funding Available
- Up to $350 for individuals representing the Diamantina Shire at competition or event level in Queensland.
- Up to $500 for those representing Queensland at a national competition or event or who have won at a state level and are competing in a national competition.
- Up to $1,000 for individuals representing Australia at an international competition or event level.
- Up to $2,000 for not-for-profit community organisations or clubs for sporting and/or cultural events, performances, or representation.

Diamantina Shire Council Community Grants
Diamantina Shire Council’s Community Grants Program provides financial and in-kind support to individuals, community groups, and organisations undertaking projects that contribute to a vibrant and connected community. This may include artistic endeavours, cultural celebrations, recreational activities, sporting events, and other community-focused initiatives. Support is offered through a fair and transparent process to help bring local ideas to life.

Queensland Government
- The Queensland Government offers various grants and assistance programs that may benefit community organisations and businesses. More information is available on its official website.
- These grants encompass a diverse range of areas, including community support, business development, and additional initiatives.
Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF)
Grants up to $35,000 are available to increase the capacity of not-for-profit groups to provide opportunities for Queensland communities. There are four funding rounds per year.

National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC)
Funding for local community NAIDOC week activities is held annually in the first week of July. Applications open in early April each year.

To foster regional tourism and economic development. Grants are available to develop destination events or support significant events—four yearly funding rounds.
