Have Your Say: Community Events

We want your voice. Tell us what kinds of events you’d like to see in the Diamantina Shire so we can plan community days that actually work for you, your family and your neighbours. Please take a few minutes to complete the online survey — your feedback will help shape our events for the year ahead.

What we’re asking

The survey covers:

  • What types of events would you attend (cultural celebrations, food events, sport/active lifestyle, arts & crafts, family fun, information sessions and more).

  • Event pricing preferences (free, gold-coin donation, small fee, paid tickets).

  • How far would you travel, and what location/distance suits you best?

  • Key factors influencing attendance include transport/parking, timing (weekday/weekend, day/night), family-friendly activities, and accommodation options.

  • Indoor vs. outdoor preferences and whether events should be tailored to groups like seniors, teens, or families.

  • An open comments section so you can make suggestions and tell us anything else.

Why your input matters

We run events to bring people together — for connection, celebration and local vibrancy. When you tell us:

  • what you want to attend,

  • how much you’re comfortable paying,

  • how far you’ll travel,

  • and what makes an event accessible for you,

We can prioritise events that attract stronger attendance, secure better volunteer support, and deliver more value for everyone.

How to take part

  1. Open the online survey here.

  2. It should only take about 5 minutes to answer.

  3. Submit it as instructed.

If you’d prefer, you can also pop into the Bedourie Outback Visitor Centre and complete a paper copy of the survey.
