Community Consultation Sessions

Diamantina Shire Council invites community members to have their say at upcoming consultation sessions to help shape future plans and support funding applications for key community facility upgrades in Birdsville.

These sessions are about listening to local ideas and priorities—so we can design spaces that are more functional, welcoming and user-friendly for everyday use and major community events alike.

What We’re Planning

  • Birdsville Dunes Golf Course – initial master planning

  • Birdsville Cemetery – initial community consultation (new addition)

  • Birdsville Community Hall Kitchen – upgrades to better support community events

Wirrarri Visitor Information Centre – Cinema Room
(In-person and online via Microsoft Teams)

Birdsville Dunes Golf Course – Initial Master Planning Session: 3:00pm – 4:00pm

Have your say on the future direction of the golf course and how it can better serve players, visitors and the wider community.

Birdsville Hall & Bronco Yards – Preliminary Kitchen Designs 
+ Birdsville Cemetery (initial consultation): 4:00pm – 5:00pm

Help shape kitchen upgrades by sharing what you want and need from these facilities, including:

  • Practical layouts and equipment for events

  • A new kitchen design for the rodeo and bronco branding areas

  • Landscaping ideas at the front of the Hall, including a child-friendly play space

  • Share your ideas for improvements to the Birdsville Cemetery in this first discussion


Why Your Input Matters

Community feedback will directly inform concept designs and strengthen future funding applications—helping ensure these spaces meet local needs now and into the future.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Whether you’re involved in events, sport, playgroup, or simply care about Birdsville’s shared spaces, your voice matters.
