Responsible Cat Ownership
Keep cats contained to protect wildlife and avoid disturbing neighbours. Feral cats are declared pests under the Stock Route Management Act 2002. Desexing helps prevent unwanted litters and reduce feral cat populations.
Cat traps are available to hire from Council, view our Fees & Charges for rates. To arrange hire of a trap email admin@diamantina.qld.gov.au.
Identification
Cats must wear a collar and registration tag. Two bells on collars help reduce hunting. Identification ensures your pet can be safely returned if lost or injured.
