Bedourie
Bedourie’s town water supply is sourced from an artesian bore drilled in 1905. The bore produces water at 45°C with a closed head pressure of 529 kPa and an unrestricted flow of 42 litres per second. The system includes ground-level and elevated reservoirs, along with a reticulation network built in 1998.
Birdsville
Birdsville’s town water supply includes two systems — an artesian bore system and a river water system.
-
Artesian Bore System: Drilled in 1961, this bore delivers water at 97–99°C, with a closed head pressure of 1,200 kPa and an unrestricted flow of 40 litres per second. The water is cooled through a series of tubes and a plate heat exchanger before entering the storage reservoirs and reticulation network (constructed in 1998).
-
River Water System: Comprises pumps, elevated reservoirs, and a reticulation network.
