Key Decision: Diamantina River Bridge Crossing
Two options are proposed for pedestrian access across the Diamantina River bridge:
Option 1 – Permanent Pedestrian Crossing
A dedicated pedestrian lane would be created by reducing the bridge to a single traffic lane, with managed traffic flow.
Option 2 – Temporary Event Crossing
The bridge would remain unchanged, with temporary traffic controls used during major events to allow safe pedestrian crossing.
Council is seeking feedback on these options.
