Property Coordinator

As a Property Coordinator, your responsibility would be to effectively maintain processes to support Council’s housing policy including administration, property inspections and maintenance coordination.

This position is based in Bedourie, the administrative centre of the Diamantina Shire; a small rural community, Bedourie is an oasis in the desert and is located at the base of a sand dune surrounded by Eyre Creek; it has fantastic modern facilities, including an aquatic centre, outback golf course, visitor information centre, 24/7 health services, primary school, sporting facilities, racetrack and twice weekly flights to/from Brisbane/Mt Isa.

Diesel Mechanic

Applications are invited from experienced Diesel Mechanic to provide an effective and efficient mechanical service involving the repair, servicing and maintenance of Council’s plant, equipment and vehicle fleet.  Plant includes Heavy Commercials, Earthmoving, Agricultural Type equipment, light fleet and ancillary items. We require you to have:

  • Trade Qualified Diesel Mechanic Certificate.
  • To hold current HR drivers licence or able to obtain.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ trade experience.
  • Be physically fit for hot/dry conditions.
  • To hold Working Safely in the Construction Industry CPCCOH1001A (white card).
  • Experience with CAT equipment preferred.

This position is based in Bedourie, a small but vital town with fantastic modern facilities, including 24/7 health services, schools, sporting facilities and twice weekly flights to/from Brisbane/Mt Isa.

Plant Operator (Stabiliser)

Applications are invited from experienced Stabiliser operators to join our busy Works Team. Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to work within a team to operate the Stabiliser to support the construction and maintenance of roads within the shire. Applicants must be experienced, hands-on persons with excellent operating skills and a positive attitude. The primary role of this position is the safe and efficient operation, maintenance and use of assigned plant, equipment and materials, as directed by the Council Works Team. In particular, to efficiently operate a stabiliser, meet required maintenance and construction project standards, and provide routine maintenance to the machine to ensure the maximum life of the machine and its accessories. A basic understanding of mechanics and how machines work is essential.
