Children’s Service Facilitator

Applications are invited from an experienced Children's Service Facilitator. This position will be responsible for planning and coordinating regular structured child focussed activities for children aged up to 8 years including; Playgroup sessions, Kids Club, and occasional specific activities such as literacy programs, and nutrition education. 

This position is a part-time position for 23hrs/week and based in Birdsville.

The successful applicant will need to have a current Working with Children - Blue Card.

A competitive package will be negotiated with the successful candidates and will include above award wages, and six weeks' annual leave. A modern home is available for rent in Birdsville at subsidised rental.

Labourer

We are now recruiting for a committed all-rounder full time Labourer for our Birdsville Crew. If you are fit and strong, keen to work then this might be the job for you. We require applicants to have a 'C' Class Drivers Licence, white construction card and the ability to ensure that all labouring, housekeeping and cleaning tasks assigned are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Plant Operator (Labourer)

We are now recruiting for a fulltime Plant Operator (Labourer) for our Civil Crew. If you are fit and strong, keen to work outdoors then this might be the job for you. We require applicants to have an HR Licence and concreting experience.

A competitive remuneration package is offered ($56,000 to $91,500 depending on allowances and overtime), including above award wages.  Council also provides 6 weeks’ annual leave with 17.5% leave loading and 10% superannuation. A comfortable home is available in Bedourie or Birdsville at subsidised rent.

Councils works crews operate on a 10/4 roster whilst residing in modern mobile camp accommodation.

Works Coordinator

Applications are invited from suitably experienced candidates for the position of Works Coordinator.  We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified person to manage our road construction and maintenance works. 

Substantial experience in the construction and maintenance of rural roads and DTMR roads is essential.

The position is based in Bedourie which is a small but vital town with fantastic modern facilities including 24/7 health services, school, sporting facilities and twice weekly flights to/from Brisbane and Mount Isa. A comfortable home will be available for rent in Bedourie at subsidised rental.

This is a fulltime permanent position with a competitive remuneration package of up to $120,000 cash (depending on your experience, allowances and overtime) and the use of a Council vehicle. Council provides 6 weeks’ annual leave with 17.5% leave loading and 9.5% superannuation.

The hours of work will be the same as the works crews, currently operating on a 10/4 roster during which a reasonable amount of overtime is worked whilst they reside in their modern mobile camp accommodation.

Diesel Mechanic

Applications are invited from experienced Diesel Mechanic to provide an effective and efficient mechanical service involving the repair, servicing and maintenance of Council’s plant, equipment and vehicle fleet.  Plant includes Heavy Commercials, Earthmoving, Agricultural Type equipment, light fleet and ancillary items. We Require you to have…

•           Trade Qualified Diesel Mechanic Certificate.

•           To hold current HR drivers licence or able to obtain.

•           A minimum of 3 years’ trade experience.

•           Be physically fit for hot/dry conditions.

•           To hold Working Safely in the Construction Industry CPCCOH1001A (white card).

•           Experience with CAT equipment preferred.

Road Construction Foreman

We are seeking a new Road Construction Foreman to join our busy team. As a Road Construction Foreman, you will be responsible to the construction and maintenance of roads. You will need the ability to analyse and diagnose road maintenance issues in an efficient and timely manner and interpret engineering and road plans whilst leading a team.  

The position will be based in either Bedourie or Birdsville which are small but vital towns with fantastic modern facilities including 24/7 health service, school, sporting facilities and twice weekly flights to/from Brisbane/Mt Isa. A comfortable home will be available at subsidised rental.
