Health Services

The current primary health care service provided in Diamantina Shire resulted from an innovative move by Council which involved funding from three levels of government. Queensland Health employs four Registered Nurses - two in each Birdsville and Bedourie.

The current Birdsville Clinic, constructed by Diamantina Shire Council, was opened on 30th September 2005. It is a high quality facility from which primary health care services are provided. Situated right next door is the previous clinic building owned by Frontier Services, who provided an invaluable service to the community for over 80 years.
