Aerodromes

The Diamantina Shire has three airports; Bedourie, Birdsville and Betoota.  The Bedourie and Birdsville airports are considered vital community assets that provide regular passenger transport services, freight and mail services and allow the operation of the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Pavement Concession Requests

Pavement Concessions are required where the aircraft’s ACN is greater than 9 for Bedourie airport and greater than 10 for Birdsville airport (in accordance with the En Route Supplement Australia (ERSA)

Pavement concession requests must be sent to admin@diamantina.qld.gov.au a minimum of seven days prior to intended operations.  A Pavement Concession Application Fee of $120 (inc GST) will be charged for each application.

Landing and Parking Requests

Birdsville and Bedourie aerodromes

Council has implemented Landing fees, Passenger fees and Parking fees effective from 1 July 2021.

Application for Hard Stand Parking 

Flights

REX (Regional Express) flies from Brisbane to Mt Isa on Monday and Thursday, and Mt Isa to Brisbane on Tuesday and Friday stopping at both Bedourie and Birdsville.
