Community Grants Program

Overview

The 2020 Community Grants Funding Round is now open.

Diamantina Shire Council’s Community Grants Program is an annual allocation of funding, made available to eligible applicants, for projects which are in the public interest and provide local community benefit within Diamantina Shire.  Support through the Community Grants Program is offered either as a grant or in-kind support.  

Completed applications can be forwarded to admin@diamantina.qld.gov.au NO LATER THAN 5 PM on the 9th March 2020 if your event is prior to 20th April 2020. All other applications close NO LATER THAN 5 PM on the 9th April 2020. For any questions regarding community grants program please contact the Wirrarri Information Centre on 07 4564 2000.

Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR)
A range of grant programs for projects which benefit residents in Australia’s rural, regional and remote communities.

FRRR Grants

Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF)
Grants up to $35,000 to increase the capacity of not-for-profit groups to provide opportunities for Qld communities.  Four funding rounds per year.

Community Heritage Grants up to $15,000 to assist with the preservation of locally owned but nationally significant collections.

National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC)
Funding for local community NAIDOC week activities, held annually in the first full week of July.  Applications open early April each year.

To foster regional tourism and economic development. Grants available for; developing destination events, or supporting significant events. Four funding rounds per year.

Grants to support charitable organisations and projects are assessed from a pool of funding requests made to the Foundation.

Letters of support

Organisations requesting a letter of support from Council, to support a funding application, should email admin@diamantina.qld.gov.au.

Please attach a document containing a 'draft version' of the text required in the letter to ensure that all required issues are addressed.
