An amazing rare natural event occurred in the skies over Diamantina on May 11.
The Geomagnetic storm event, Aurora Australis, was captured by photography enthusiasts across our shire. Wendy Pilley’s photo of the Aurora Australis was viewed over 260K times on the Birdsville Tourist Park Facebook page and shared on the Diamantina and Queensland Tourism Facebook pages.
