Join the 2025 Australia Day Awards Selection Panel

Diamantina Shire Council is calling for community members to join our 2025 Australia Day Awards Selection Panel! This is a unique opportunity to celebrate our local heroes by helping select award recipients who make a real difference in our community. 

The selection panel will comprise the Mayor, Chief Executive Officer, a Bedourie community member, a Birdsville community member and a Shire community member. Community members must have resided in the shire for at least five years to qualify.

What You’ll Do:
- Review nominations and help choose one winner for each award category.
- Represent your community’s voice in recognising outstanding contributions and achievements.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have lived in the Diamantina Shire for at least five years.
- Be willing to declare any potential conflicts of interest.

Panel Member Details:
- This is a voluntary role, and panel members cover their travel expenses to meetings.
- The panel serves for one award year, with a new group selected annually.

How to Apply:
Complete the Australia Day Panel Nomination Form and return it to the Diamantina Shire Council Administration Centre in person or via email to admin@diamantina.qld.gov.au by 5pm on Friday 29 November, 2024.
