A Weekend of Inspiration and Celebration Around Women in Management

BEDOURIE – 31 May to 1 June 2025

Locals and visitors are set to gather for a weekend of celebration, learning, and connection at the Bedourie Women’s Extravaganza Conference, proudly hosted by the Diamantina Shire Council and the Desert Rivers Development Board.

This much-anticipated event will be held at the Bedourie Golf Club on Saturday, 31 May, and Sunday, 1 June 2025. It promises an unforgettable program full of inspiration, empowerment, and good old-fashioned outback hospitality.

By highlighting leadership, skill-building, and community engagement, the Bedourie International Women’s Day Extravaganza is helping pave the way for a more inclusive and active future for women in the West. The event will offer practical resources on management and finance, while supporting greater opportunities for women and girls to participate and lead across all levels of clubs, communities, and organisations.

A Full Program of Activities

The event kicks off on Saturday morning with registration at 9:00am, followed by morning tea and the famous Bedourie local markets at 10:00am. A Men’s Ambrose Golf Tournament will be held as a formal opening of the Bedourie Golf Course.

A welcome by Elisabeth Plant, convener of the conference and secretary of the Desert Rivers Development Board, at 11:00am will open the conference. This will lead into the inaugural Women of the West panel, which will highlight local voices from the region and be supported by Richard Cooley, president of the Desert Rivers Development Board.
