We’re hiring! Diamantina Shire Council seeks motivated and capable individuals to join our Infrastructure Services team. We currently have opportunities in the following key operational roles:
Multi Skilled Plant Operator (Level 5)
If you're hands-on and love variety, this role offers the chance to operate various plant and equipment across roadworks, concreting, drainage, and civil maintenance projects. Grader Operator (Level 6)
Are you an experienced final trim grader operator ready to take on the open roads of the Queensland outback? This role focuses on high-standard grading and road formation using locally sourced gravels, crossfalls, and table drains, working closely with construction crews. Truck Driver (MC) – Road Train Type 2 (Level 6)
Drive multi-combination vehicles, including side tippers and water tankers, as you contribute to major infrastructure works. You'll ensure safe, compliant operation in accordance with NHVR and DTMR standards while assisting with site setup and general labour when required. View the Truck Driver (MC) Position Description

Key Requirements (vary by role):

Appropriate Queensland driver’s licences (MR, HR, or MC)
-
Construction White Card
-
Experience operating plant or road trains (as relevant)
-
Strong knowledge of road construction/maintenance
-
Commitment to safety, teamwork, and high-quality standards
-
Willingness to work in remote conditions, including overnight camp stays
Desirable: Traffic control accreditation, First Aid/CPR, Civil Construction qualifications, and additional plant competencies.
