EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group

At Council’s ordinary meeting held on 20 September 2021, Council resolved to develop a Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
 

What is a RAP
RAPs provide a framework for organisations to realise their vision for reconciliation. RAPs are practical plans of action built on relationships, respect and opportunities. RAPs create social change and economic opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
 

Membership
Membership of the RAP Working Group will be up to 4 community members, 5 Councillors and 8 Traditional Owner representatives being a total of 17 (excluding Council Officers as required).
Expressions of Interest are invited from residents within the Diamantina Shire community that would like to take part in the working group developing the Diamantina Shire Council’s Reflect RAP 2022.
Expressions of Interest will be assessed by a panel. Community members who can demonstrate:
1. an interest and/or involvement in local and/or broader Aboriginal community affairs, advocacy and networks;
and
2. an ability and willingness to contribute to the strategic development of policy impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at a local government level, will be highly regarded.

Meeting times
The RAP Working Group will meet on Friday 28 January 2022 at 9.00 am via Zoom or at the Bedourie Office. Further meeting schedule is yet to be decided.
