Bulk Rubbish Collection

Diamantina Shire Council is pleased to announce the return of the bulk rubbish collection for all premises in Bedourie and Birdsville. The collection will take place over a three-week period (weather pending), commencing Monday 27 February 2023 in Bedourie and 13 March 2023 in Birdsville to coincide with Clean Up Australia Day. Items will need to be placed in front of your premises by prior to the Monday of the collection week by 6:00 am. Household waste that normally goes in your refuse bin is not included in this bulk rubbish collection.

Where to place items

Place your items neatly out the front of your premises in a pile and make sure your waste does not block footpaths or driveways. Smaller items are to be boxed or placed into bags.

Items we will collect include but are not limited to the following:

• Batteries

• Gas bottles

• Green waste

• Old fridges/freezers

• Old furniture

• Old paint

• Televisions.

This bulk rubbish collection will include the collection of the following items by prior arrangement only:

• Bricks and concrete

• Car bodies

• Hazardous waste (e.g. chemicals, oil)

• Scrap steel

• Tyres.
