About the Role
Diamantina Shire Council seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Project Officer to join our Infrastructure Services team. This role is vital in supporting the planning, administration, and delivery of key civil infrastructure projects across the Shire, including roads, buildings, and Council assets.
The successful applicant will provide high-level technical and administrative support to ensure efficient project delivery, manage contract documentation, track job costs, and assist with disaster recovery works, asset management, procurement, and WHS compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in the delivery of civil construction and maintenance projects

Coordinate contract management, procurement, and job costing

Maintain project schedules using MS Project and prepare accurate reports

Support disaster recovery and flood damage funding arrangements (DRFA)

Administer quality assurance and safety documentation

Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders
Key Selection Criteria

Demonstrated experience in civil infrastructure, project coordination, or council operations

Strong communication, analytical and time management skills

Proficiency in MS Office (including MS Project and Excel)

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Qualifications and Requirements
Essential:

‘C’ Class Queensland Driver’s Licence

Construction White Card
-
Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and National Police Check
Desirable:
-
Qualifications in Engineering, Project Administration or a related field

First Aid & CPR Certificate
-
Traffic Management (Level 2)
